We talk about making peace with our wound rather than fixing it because healing isn’t about pushing our painful past away, it‘s more about changing our take on it. Healing helps us integrate the experiences that may fragmented us, back into a greater sense of wholeness.
Our perception of what hurt us shifts as we go within, gain self awareness and get fresh perspectives on what was. Using tools of self-reflection — like shadow work, breath practices, ritual, conscious movement, Energy medicine, astrology, journeying, journaling, etc. — we loosen the grip our distorted beliefs, unhelpful patterns, reactions and resistance have on us.
When we can free ourselves from the impact of our traumatic experiences, we become empowered to turn away from our suffering and toward calm, contentment, fulfillment and joy.
When we are less burdened by the results of our wounding, we can more easily choose happiness.
The more we heal, the less emotional baggage we carry, the more light-hearted we feel.
This is our enlightenment path.
